About The Garden

The Kubota Garden is owned by the City of Seattle and maintained by the Department of Parks & Recreation. The Garden is open year-round during daylight hours and is FREE to the public.

Wedding Information:

The Terrace Overlook & Terrace is open and available for reservations.

  • The City of Seattle’s Parks Department schedules and manages events. Call 206-684-4081 for reservation and fee information
  • Group size is limited to 150 guests
  • No alcoholic beverages or amplified sound allowed
  • A reservation does not close the entire garden

Public access is only limited to the site of the wedding during the event. Tour guides are requested to lead their groups away from the ceremonies and celebrations.

Professional Photographers:

The City of Seattle requires professional photographers to have a permit to take pictures in the Garden.  Call 206-684-4081 for permit and fee information.

Facilities:

  • Facilities at the Garden are limited. Portable toilets are available near the entrance.
  • The Tom Kubota Stroll Garden is wheelchair accessible; other areas of the Garden are less accessible to wheelchairs
  • There are three picnic tables, a few benches and a few expanses of lawn area
  • Dogs are welcomed, provided they are on a leash and if you clean-up after them
