This event is hosted in collaboration with Seattle Parks Foundation's Pop-Up Concert in the Park series.


Location: The program will take place at Kubota Garden's Terrace Overlook. Once you arrive at the Garden, follow the signs to the event.


Parking: Parking at the Garden is available but limited. There is additional street parking on Renton Ave S. As with all public parks, we encourage you to leave valuables at home. If you must bring them, store them out of sight before you reach the Garden.


What to expect: This performance is an hour and a half. Attendees are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs or picnic blanket and lounge, relax and listen/ watch to the performance on the Terrace lawn or gravel area. Volunteers will be present at the event to answer any questions.


Food: Thai-U-Up Food Truck will be on-site in the parking lot with food available for purchase. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own food and enjoy a picnic in the garden.


Accessibility: A shuttle service is available from the Garden's Entry Plaza to the Terrace from 6pm - 7pm and from the Terrace back to the Entry Plaza from 7:30 - 8:30pm. If you plan on utilizing this shuttle service, please email sophia@kubotagarden.org.

About the artist: Darrius Willrich is a singer, songwriter, pianist, and educator from Seattle, WA. He is a Cornish College of the Arts graduate with a degree in jazz piano. He has taught at Seattle Prep, Seattle Central College, North Seattle Continuing Education, JazzEd, Off The Wall Music and Seattle Drum School (Lake City) as a piano and vocal instructor. Darrius is currently the keyboard player for Digable Planets and Shabazz Palaces. He sings in the Michael Jackson v Prince Band (MVP). He is a featured vocalist on Wiz Khalifa’s “Rolling Papers 2” album on the song “Never Hesitate” and co-produced South African rapper Nasty C’s song “Overpriced Steak” along with Jake One and Sam Wish.
