Celebrating Our Volunteers
Volunteers are the infrastructure that holds KGF together. Here are just a few of the things they do:
-
Serve on the Board and committees to ensure KGF has a long-term vision and the resources to implement it.
-
Work with Garden staff on weekly or monthly maintenance projects.
-
Conduct public and private tours.
-
Greet visitors to the Garden during the spring and summer.
-
Plan and staff events.
-
Staff the fundraising plant sales.
-
and so much more.
Benefits of Volunteering
KGF's volunteers get special training to become tour guides or Garden Greeters. They have the opportunity to attend private lectures from horticulture experts and historians as well as take field trips to other gardens and significant locations in our region. Twice a year volunteers gather to celebrate: in spring at the indoor Volunteer Appreciation lunch and in summer at the Ice Cream Social. And wherever KGF volunteers gather, there are always snacks and treats.
