Kubota Garden is owned and operated by Seattle Parks & Recreation (SPR). Kubota Garden Foundation partners with SPR to enhance and protect the Garden and stay true to Fujitaro and Tom Kubota’s vision.

What are the hours?
Sunrise to sunset. Parking lot gates open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 10:00 p.m.

Are reservations required to visit? No.

​How much does it cost?
Nothing! Kubota Garden is free to visit, but donations are welcome. You can donate at the Garden by the information kiosk or online here.

How much does it cost to park?
Parking is free. The parking lot entrance is on 55th Ave S near Renton Ave S. Additional free, street parking is available along 55th Ave S and Renton Ave. S. As with all public parks, we encourage you to leave valuables at home, but if you must bring them, store them out of sight before you reach the Garden.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, provided that you keep them on leash at all times, keep them out of plants and ponds, and clean up after them. 

What facilities are available?
ADA-compliant, gender neutral restrooms with flushing toilets and hand-washing stations opened in the summer of 2023. The only other buildings onsite are maintenance facilities which are not open to the public. The 20-acre garden also has portable toilets for public use near the entrance. 

Can we picnic?
Absolutely! Bring a blanket and enjoy one of the lawns, or use the new, accessible picnic tables near the restrooms.

Is the Garden wheelchair accessible?
It depends. The Garden’s primary paths are made of hard-packed gravel. There are grade changes along every path, some steeper than others. One section, The Mountainside, is not wheelchair accessible at all. The Self-Guided Tour map shows the paths that are easier to navigate. 

Are bicycles, electric scooters or other motorized vehicles permitted?
Kubota Garden's paths are not multi-use trails, therefore only motorized wheelchairs and mobility scooters are permitted according to the rules and regulations set by Seattle Parks & Recreation.
